REVIEW by Lorna : The Three Sisters (Whispers #3) by Lisa Unger (@lisaunger , @Mollykatie112)

71z5wGFXGAL._SL1500_The final e-novella in a thrilling mini-series about a psychic medium, from award-winning and New York Times bestselling author Lisa Unger.

When Eloise’s granddaughter, twenty-year-old Finley, comes to live with her, Eloise’s abilities start to change—things seem to be getting easier. Her load is lighter, and rather than chasing down people she needs, they are coming to her. She teams up with detective Jones Cooper to help a desperate father bring his daughter’s killer to justice. Meanwhile, Finley, who is developing gifts of her own, has bigger problems than she’s willing to admit. Will Eloise help Finley and others see the difference between justice and revenge, or will things spiral out of control first?

This is the third in this trilogy of novellas about a woman, who after losing her husband and daughter in a horrible car accident, suddenly has psychic abilities. This trilogy follows Eloise from the time she is a woman in her thirties(I think)until she is an old woman with a grown granddaughter named, Finley.

Finley now lives with Eloise and admits to having the same abilities that Eloise has. Her mother, Amanda, is devastated that her daughter has these abilities, and that she has moved to live with her grandmother. Eloise is happy to have the company after so many years of being alone. Except she is rarely alone, because she is visited pretty regularly by ghosts. This time she is being visited by the ghost of a beautiful young woman, and a woman from the 1600’s. The biggest problem seems to be with the lady from the 1600’s, because she’s clearly very unhappy, and stomps around the house. It’s up to Eloise to figure out what the lady wants. It’s also up to her, and a detective named Jones Cooper, to find out what happened to the beautiful young woman. Was it murder or suicide?

I’ve always enjoyed Eloise as a character in all of these novellas, and this time Finley has come into her own as a good character as well. She has spent a good part of her life being haunted by The Three Sisters, as they are known at the historical society of Eloise’s town. Who are The Three Sisters, and is there a relationship to the woman that stomps around Eloise’s house? Just another question to be answered by Eloise.

All three of these novellas are extremely well written, as is everything I have ever read by Ms. Unger. I have enjoyed getting to know Eloise, first through her heartbreak, and then to her helping of so many ghosts along the way to the end of this story.

I would recommend this book to all mystery lovers, particularly those that like a paranormal element.
