REVIEW by Lorna: Tangled (Tangled #1) by Emma Chase (@Emmachse , @Mollykatie112)

71XHltjoTCL._SL1500_In New York Times bestselling author Emma Chase’s sizzling and hilarious debut novel, Drew Evans—gorgeous, arrogant, irreverent, and irresistibly charming—meets his match in new colleague Kate Brooks.

Drew Evans is handsome and arrogant, he makes multimillion dollar business deals and seduces New York’s most beautiful women with just a smile. So why has he been shuttered in his apartment for seven days, miserable and depressed? He’ll tell you he has the flu. But we all know that’s not really true.

Katherine Brooks is brilliant, beautiful and ambitious. When Kate is hired as the new associate at Drew’s father’s investment banking firm, every aspect of the dashing playboy’s life is thrown into a tailspin. The professional competition she brings is unnerving, his attraction to her is distracting, his failure to entice her into his bed is exasperating.

Tangled is not your mother’s romance novel. It is an outrageous, passionate, witty narrative about a man who knows a lot about women…just not as much as he thinks. As he tells his story, Drew learns the one thing he never wanted in life, is the only thing he can’t live without.

A few months back, most of the blogs were reviewing, and talking about this book. So I bought it, and didn’t read it, nothing unusual for me, because I will never see the end of my to be read pile. A couple of days ago, one of the blogs I follow was talking about this series again. I stopped reading all the other books I had already started, and read it. I ended up being happy I did.

Drew Evans is pretty much a man slut. He doesn’t care about anything but the next woman he can have sex with-doesn’t matter if it’s in a taxi, a club bathroom, or in a bed. Doesn’t matter how many participants are involved either. He’s also a professional who, when he’s not out hunting his next conquest, is totally wrapped up in his work. One night on one of his” hunting expeditions” he sees the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen, and he gets shot down-something that never happens. This is the story of what happens when his new associate at his job is Kate, the woman that shot him down.

I’ve read books with a males point of view many times, usually mysteries or thrillers. But this one was pretty different, because it goes into detail about what men really want from women, sexually in particular. And coming from a total man slut, it was a pretty different read for me for sure. Several times, I was laughing right out loud while reading this. Drew’s point of view is brutally honest, and sometimes that was just down right funny.

At first, I wasn’t really a fan of Drew’s personality. He is conceited but deservedly, because he is handsome, smart, has a great job, and he’s rich. He’s also very charming. He’s rarely heard the word no, so when he hears it from Kate, he is on a mission for sure. I ended up really liking Drew, as he changes during the read, and becomes a much nicer person. I really liked Kate. She is, of course gorgeous, smart, has a great job, but is just starting out in her profession. She is also engaged to her boyfriend of ten years.

I found this book to be a fun read, and the sexual element is pretty much smoking hot. There’s none of the bondage/kinky stuff, but even so, it was HOT. Of course, I would not recommend this if you mind a lot of sexual situations, or sexual stories being related to the reader. It’s perfect for the adult that loves a hot sexual, love story, with a lot of laughs along the way.
