REVIEW by Lorna: Midnight’s Surrender (Dark Warrior Novella) by Donna Grant – RELEASED TODAY! (@donna_grant,@Mollykatie112)

Dale has been on the run – on the run from himself and the demons that haunt him. However, when he comes across a stunningly beautiful woman he cannot resist, he knows that he must do whatever it takes to possess her. She is a Druid with secrets of her own, but he is drawn to her like no other. Even when danger closes in around them, Dale knows that the true threat is to his very soul, which he will sacrifice in order to save her.

Midnight's Surrender

First I need to say that this is my first book by Donna Grant, so therefore, I had no knowledge about this series going into it. I received this from Net Galley in exchange for an honest and fair review.

Rennie lives in near isolation on a small obscure isle. She is a Druid and has some special powers but in her family her powers aren’t that special when compared to the rest of her family. Dale is a Dark Warrior and has come to the isle in search of the magic that has been calling him from a far distance. He really just wants to hide out as well, as he just needs a place to spend his immortal life away from everyone. But first he wants to find the woman with the magic and that turns out to be Rennie. Not a spoiler as you find that out very early on in the story.

This is a novella so it was a pretty short book as is usual. The story takes place near Christmas so it ends up being a Christmas time love story. If you read this series, I am sure Dale’s story is a must read for you. There is some rehashing of what has happened to Dale before but not that much and that was okay in a novella. I am not sure but I think Rennie is new to the series. They both are very likable characters and it was well written.

It was a good, short but heartwarming read and I rated it 3.75 stars.
