Hey! I’m Alicia, and not a fan of writing about myself….but you should probably know a thing or two about me right? (that way you can say oooohhh, that’s why she said that!) My family is my life. I’ve been married for close to 10 yrs and have 6 keep me on my toes, never a dull moment, why is there chocolate smeared from one room to the next kids. 3 boys and 3 girls. We are NOT going for a tie breaker.
I’ve been a reader on and off. First book I clearly remember reading was The Voice in the Night by Dean Koontz. I swear I can still “hear” that creepy little kid saying “pop, pop, pop”. I then read just about every Koontz book in the house. Phantoms being one of my favs. Took a looonnnggg break from reading. Picked up the Twilight Series (yes, I just admitted that) and really enjoyed them! (I’ll admit that too) Read the Host and liked that as well. Then…. There was a lull. My oldest son who is 11 LOVES to read. He kept begging me to read the Percy Jackson books. I finally relented and was so glad I did. They are great! Fun, entertaining and brushed me up on my mythology J So the more my son would read, the more I would read. Then he’d ask if he could read such and such and I was like, ummm…..don’t really know if that’s appropriate (yes, I’m one of those moms. So I began reading again. I became interested in book reviews because trying to find “ratings” on books is nearly impossible and I thought I’d help some moms out there. And I really like to discuss books too. Sometimes my discussing can turn into ranting, but hey….
I enjoy reading fantasy, vampire anything, thrillers and didn’t know it till I started reading Bypass Gemini but I also enjoy sci-fi. I do NOT enjoy bump and grind skim the page because the graphics are just too real. Folks, I have six kids, I know how it’s done
My hubby bought me a Kindle touch for Christmas and I LOVE it. It did take me a while to adjust, but now it’s like second nature. I do still love paper books and will collect my favorites to put on the shelves. (Just added an autographed copy of The Book of Deacon by Joseph Lallo) Because of the Kindle, I stumbled across my favorite author Joseph Lallo. If you haven’t read The Book of Deacon- go read it!! I was hoping to win the Kindle Fire, but seeing how I’m now reviewing, I may be out of the running. Dang.
Ok. That’s it. Nothing earth shattering. My favorite color is orange. Lucky number 7 oh- and I’m a Mormon.
