I found this book because Amazon thought I would like it and recommended it to me. I guess Amazon really is starting to know me, because oh my goodness was this a good book! It’s young adult and paranormal but you certainly don’t have to be young to appreciate it.
Emma is seventeen and has just been in a horrific car accident that killed her parents. She is badly injured, grieving and feeling all alone in the world. Out of the blue she finds out she has an unknown until now aunt that lives in Alaska and wants her to move there. She sends an escort named Kade to LA to bring her to Alaska. She pretty much falls in love with him at first sight. Weird things start happening pretty quickly. After being so badly hurt, within a couple of days she has almost completely healed. The big thing is when she is attacked before she even gets to Alaska. Enough said about that! Everyone is being mysterious about things to do with her and she is really confused. There are people that are watching her at the airport. She is kind of freaked out about everything and questions Kade,.although he is being pretty mysterious too. But even he is freaked out about the effect that Emma and he have on each other especially when they touch..electrifying to say the least. The story only covers a few days of Emma’s life but wow it was an exciting few days.
I started out by just getting the sample,then bought the book and at 5 am decided I really needed to go to sleep but it almost was unputdownable. I know that’s not a word, but it certainly applies here. I then finished the book the next day(today)So so good. There was pretty much nonstop action once the story got going. And talk about your cliffhangers! It actually was similar to another series I just read but to be honest it’s a toss up which one was better. It didn’t even bother me that it had the same premise because it just was a really well told story and I am wishing for the next one already. Since this was just released in January I guess I will just have to wait but I don’t have to be happy about it! This author is definitely going on my list of favorite authors. I give it 5 really solid stars.
