INDIE AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT: Ginny Lurcock (@ginnylurcock)
Name
Ginny Lurcock
Where are you from?
New Hampshire
How long have you been writing?
Since about 5th grade. Thanks to some bad advice, I quit until a little over a year ago.
What’s your genre of choice for writing?
Whatever tickles my fancy at the moment… but usually fantasy/paranormal
What’s your genre of choice for reading?
I have to pick one? It depends on my mood, but I can tell you that the genre you’re least likely to catch me reading is LitFic.
Tell us all about you and your writing!!
Well… my writing is more or less an outlet so all the weird little daydreams that flit about in my brain don’t clog up the works and drive me absolutley batty. Plus my mom thinks I’m funny. (Which is a lie, since I totally won’t tell her that I’m writing much less give her my pen name)
Any new releases that we should be watching for?
I have a series of episodic shorts that you can read right now (RIGHT NOW!) that’s currently on hiatus and leaves a kind of a crappy spot. So you actually probably shouldn’t read those.
Aside from that I’ve got a vampire novel that’s YA (mostly) that’s in it’s final round of edits. As soon as it’s cover is ready I’ll be sharing more news about that here and on my site.

I highly recommend checking out Ginny’s blog! Not only for her fantastic short stories, but it’s an all around great read; entertaining and enlightening. It shows the human side of being an aspiring author; the inner struggles we all go through while trying to get our dreams off the ground. Ginny faces those paranoid thoughts that are the downfall of so many of us, then she punches them right in their paranoid mouths and gets the job done (even if there are some hiccups along the way). So stop wasting time reading my comment & check out her blog!!!
I had the opportunity to read a short by Ginny. Let me tell you, she writes almost like she talks. It’s funny, thoughtful and just all around excellent!! Can’t wait for her first big girl release!!
I got bad advice like that, too. Good that you came back to it!
I got bad advice like that, too. Glad you came back to it!
Mee too. In college. My ego was defiantly bruised. I thought I’d never write after that.
Well, I just started again. And I am loving it.
Ahh, screw ‘em, I say.
Awwww thanks guys <3
