INDIE AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT: Darcy Town (@DarcyTown)

DARCY TOWN

Name
Darcy Town

Where are you from?
Washington, Seattle area to be more specific

How long have you been writing?
I’ve been writing on and off for the last 14 years, but only seriously writing (as in every day) for the last 4 years.

What’s your genre of choice for writing?
Toss up between Urban Fantasy and Science Fiction

What’s your genre of choice for reading?
Same as the above, fantasy and sci-fi

Tell us all about you and your writing!!
I currently have five books available as e-books or paperbacks. Three are from the Morningstar Trilogy and two from my sci-fi series. The Morningstar Trilogy is made up of Morningstar, Evenstar and Daystar. It is urban fantasy/paranormal romance that focuses on Lucifer, his reincarnated lover, and the handful of Archangels that fell with him in his attempt to save his girlfriend from Heaven. The trilogy takes place in our time, long after their failed attempt at a rescue. It’s definitely not a normal take on the religious devil mythos.

The Wastes series is about Rake, a drug-addicted ex-astronaut in Bangkok, who runs into an alien girl with the power of moving spaceships. She doesn’t trust him and he’s too wasted to figure out that she’s an alien, but they have to learn to get along because there’s a ruthless alien empire tracking them down to take her back. There’s humor, action, and something sort of like love.

I like to write dark comedy no matter what other genre it falls into. My stuff is pretty adult when it comes to cursing, violence, sex, and drug use. But I think my themes and message overall are typically positive. No downer books for me.

Any new releases that we should be watching for?
Waste Not, Want Not. It’s book 3 of the Wastes series. Should be coming out Summer 2012.
